OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS & CURATORS: Deadline June 15, 2016

Open Call for 2017-18 Season

 

Momenta Art is an artist-run, not-for profit organization dedicated to providing an engaging forum for public dialog through critically-engaged art projects. This year, proposals will be reviewed by Momenta Art staff and an invited ourside reviewer. The outside reviewer will be announced shortly. Please read the guidelines below and follow instructions in order to ensure that your proposals can be given the attention they deserve during our selection process. We kindly ask you to contribute a $15 fee to offset the administrative costs associated with reviewing your application. We look forward to receiving strong project proposals to be realized during September 2017 – June 2018. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our program.

ARTIST PROPOSAL

We accept documentation of existing artwork or future project plans by individual artists, collaborative teams and collectives. Your proposal will be considered for solo exhibitions and group exhibitions curated by Momenta Art staff during September 2017–June 2018. Please read our proposal guidelines carefully and e-mail to proposals@momentaart.org by June 15, 2016.

 

<Artist Proposal Guideline>

 

Please prepare the following materials in JPEGs and PDF files and create a zip file named as “Artist proposal_Last name_First name.” Please e-mail your zip file with “Artist proposal_Last name_First name_payment confirmation number” as the subject line. You are welcome to submit both JPEGs and/or video works

 

• Your resume/CV including name, address, phone number, website and e-mail (up to 3 pages)

• Artist statement or project statement (maximum 300 words)

• Up to 10 JPEGs that represent your body of artwork or project

  Please re-size your JPEGs according to following specifications:

Color Mode: RGB

Maximum size in any direction: 1000 pixels

Image resolution: 72 DPI

• Up to 3 links to 3-minute samples of video works

   (Please include the password in case they are password-protected)

• Work list that includes the following for each work: artist(s) name, title of work, date, medium

   and a brief description (if necessary, maximum 50 words for each work)

CURATORIAL PROPOSAL

We look for well-conceptualized, ambitious curatorial proposals that can be realized through exhibitions, events, conferences, video screenings and other formats for our exhibition season September 2017 - June 2018. Please read the following guidelines and submit your proposals to proposals@momentaart.org by June 15, 2016.

 

<Curatorial Proposal Guidelines>

 

Please submit your curatorial proposal not exceeding 1000 words. Please address your conceptual basis of the proposed project as well as how your concept will be embodied through specific artists, artworks or writers that you plan to include.

• Curatorial statement (maximum 1000 words)

• Artists’ resume/CVs

• Up to 10 JPEGs that embody your curatorial statement
